Technical Consultant - Application/Database Upgrades and Migrations

Routematch by Uber is hiring an Upgrades / Migration Technical Consultant to complete upgrades and/or migrations of applications, databases, and reports for our customers.  You’ll build new environments, test the new solution, and troubleshoot and resolve any issues.  You’ll work on a team reporting to the Head of Client Support.

As the Upgrades/Migration Technical Consultant you will:
  • Work with the Upgrades Project Manager to perform Routematch upgrades or migrations, with a focus on client server environments.
  • Create and/or update Shapefiles for clients upon request.
  • Edit Shapefiles using in house utility to add or remove road segments.
  • Backup, migrate and restore databases from one server to another to facilitate migrations.
  • Answer technical questions as posed by the client’s IT as they arise during a migration or upgrade.
  • Perform System audits, ensuring that all applicable Routematch products are being migrated or upgraded.
  • Run database scripts to ensure clients are on the latest version during a migration or upgrade.
  • Upgrade or migrate all products during a project, including but not limited to Microsoft SQL Server, SQL database, Routematch core application, RMGate, RMMobile, RMXS, Webportals, DIUs, custom reports.
  • Troubleshoot any issues that arise during an upgrade or migration, utilizing external resources as needed.
  • Work with the Cloud team to ensure that all requirements are met prior to the Cloud team standing up the agency’s environment.
  • Build image files of computers in order to restore to other workstations.
  • Perform speed tests both before and after an upgrade or migration, ensuring that no performance issues arise as the result of the project.
  • Perform workstation installs or upgrades as part of an upgrade/migration or when requested by customers that are currently in Support.
  • Perform functionality tests on all migrated components, requiring a strong knowledge of each Routematch application.
  • Update Salesforce after any environmental changes to ensure proper documentation.
Experience and skills required
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Strong technical knowledge of software, hardware, databases, ISPs and networking solutions
  • Experience troubleshooting technical software issues
  • Knowledge of Windows Server environments.
  • Knowledge of SQL and SQL Server Management Studio
  • Knowledge of Citrix and Citrix delivered systems
  • Experience with VPNs, Remote Desktop and Remote Assistance Software
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree or technical degree
  • Knowledge of imaging computers
  • Knowledge of computer Registries and RegEdit
  • Preferred: 1+ years of experience with Routematch, with a firm grasp of all Products and how to support clients’ technical issues

  • Able to adjust schedule to accommodate client needs, occasionally needing to work nights or weekends
  • Able to take direction, without needing to be told something twice
